Why getting letters in the mail is awesome and how to get more!

Do you know what's awesome? Getting letters in the mail! Seriously, it's one of the best things ever. Let me tell you why.

First of all, letters are super personal. They show that someone actually cares about you enough to write something by hand, address an envelope, stick a stamp on it, and send it all the way to you. How sweet is that? Letters can say things that are hard to say in other ways. They can make you laugh, cry, smile, or think. They can tell you stories that you never heard before or remind you of stories that you shared together.

Letters are super rare nowadays. You don't get many letters in the mail anymore because everyone is busy texting, emailing, tweeting, snapping, or whatever else they do online.

Don't get me wrong, I love technology as much as the next person. But sometimes it feels like technology makes communication too fast, too cheap, too easy, and too boring.

I mean, how many emojis can you use before they lose their meaning? How many gifs can you send before they get old? How many photos can you share before they become irrelevant?

Physical letters are really special. You don't just delete them or ignore them like digital messages. You keep them and treasure them like precious gifts. You display them on your wall or your fridge or your desk. You reread them when you feel lonely or sad or happy or nostalgic. You hold them in your hands and feel closer to the person who wrote them.

So yeah, these are some of the reasons why we don't get many letters in the mail anymore, but I hope they won't stop us from writing them once in a while because, as I said before, getting letters in the mail is one of the greatest joys in life.

And that’s one of the reasons why I created Fiction Letters. It’d be hard to get your friends and family to start writing physical letters, but you can still relive the nostalgia of finding a letter waiting for you in your mailbox.

Imagine opening your mailbox to find a handwritten envelope waiting for you. Sure, it’s from a fictitious friend, but when you open the letter you’ll be transfixed by your friend’s amazing story! As the weeks roll by, you’ll find yourself excitedly anticipating the next letter in your 8-letter series to arrive!

Yearning for more letters to land in your inbox? Then check out the four series of Fiction Letters and get excited to check your mailbox again because your fictitious friend has an amazing story to tell you that will put a smile on your face!
